I was able to submit it because of my time with you - and you telling me I was ready to publish! ... My time with you was, of course, instructive, but even more than that, inspirational - to watch and learn from a real writer who has such passion and pragmatism about her craft and art. - Rev. Pat Grace.
A student in one of my John C. Campbell Folk school classes won a large award for a sermon she wrote. Pat is a young woman. She writes sermons for services at St Luke's Episcopal Church, but when she came to my class a couple of years ago, she said she did not know if her writing was good enough to submit for publishing.
I know that many times we just need validation of our work, validation we respect, to give us the confidence we need to make the next step up the ladder toward our goals. I am delighted that Pat won this nice award from her own school, Virginia Theological Seminary.

Oh boy do we need validation and the validation of someone like yourself! Keep up the good works!

Joan, I well remember when, years ago, Nancy Simpson validated my work. It changed my life. I try to do the same for others.
