Words from a Reader

The “Writing Life Stories” e-mails I receive are such treasures. As soon as I see there is one in my inbox, I read it immediately. I look forward to them and never know how they will touch me. They can be interesting, informative, humorous, and/or touching.

April is Poetry Month

I will post poems all this month and I hope you enjoy them

I am a fan of the late poet, Jane Kenyon. I also love my dogs. In this poem, Jane explains the trust our beloved pets have in us.

Biscuit by Jane Kenyon

The dog has cleaned his bowl
and his reward is a biscuit,
which I put in his mouth
like a priest offering the host.

I can't bear that trusting face!
He asks for bread, expects
bread, and I in my power

might have given him a stone.
