Words from a Reader

The “Writing Life Stories” e-mails I receive are such treasures. As soon as I see there is one in my inbox, I read it immediately. I look forward to them and never know how they will touch me. They can be interesting, informative, humorous, and/or touching.

Seeing through a new window

Rocky snored in his bed behind me and Tiger the cat slept on the back of the sofa. Tonight Barry and I sat in our favorite chairs each with a laptop computer enjoying our little Christmas tree and watching the Best of Andy Williams Christmas Shows.

I know I'm spending too much time on the computer these days, but now that I've simplified my life, I find great pleasure in researching subjects just to satisfy my never-ending curiosity.

This afternoon, I wrote an article for the newspapers, but somehow I lost it, and now I have to do it over. But I'm not upset. Strange how peaceful I'm feeling and how happy we are these days as we concentrate on each other and Barry's health.

Priorities have a way of getting all mixed up sometimes, and then the Great Creator pops us on the head with a big stick until we are dizzy. When we can focus once again, we see things through a new window.

The new window is open and the view is beautiful.

  2. As someone once told me that's "getting hit with a cosmic 2 x 4." It often takes drastic action to make me stop, look around, and realize just how much I have to be grateful for. I tend to take a lot for granted - breath, sight, hearing, being born here instead of a Third World Country... The very basics. Happens to many of us I guess.

  3. Thanks for leaving your comment, Pat D.
We have to slow down and live in the moment, I've learned.
