Words from a Reader

The “Writing Life Stories” e-mails I receive are such treasures. As soon as I see there is one in my inbox, I read it immediately. I look forward to them and never know how they will touch me. They can be interesting, informative, humorous, and/or touching.

Congratulations again to Pat Daharsh

One of my friends and a Council cousin, Pat Daharsh jjust received the following email from the Southern California Genealogical Society -

Dear Patricia Darharsh,
I am very pleased to inform you that your story, Big Blue Eyes, has won SECOND prize in Category 2 in the 2008 GENEii Family History Writing Contest sponsored by the Southern California Genealogy Society. Your check and certificate will soon be on their way to you.
This year's articles (submitted from all over the United States, Canada and Israel) were of high quality. Thank you for contributing your excellent article. Congratulations on your achievement from all of us at SCGS! We hope you will enter again next year.

Sincerely
Jean Chapman Snow, Coordinator

Category 2 was family or local history articles of 1,000 words or less. Winners receive cash and a certificate.

"Entrants grant SCGS the one-time right to publish their articles in the SCGS journal The Searcher; and/or to feature the article on the SCGS Website; and/or to publish their article in an anthology of winning entries. Previously published articles should include permission to reprint from the prior publisher".

Pat is thrilled and so am I. We email and she sends me her stories and poems and I've been encouraging her for sometime to submit her work.
She says she is ready to send out more work and write more of her fabulous life stories. I know we will be congratulating Pat again soon.
