Words from a Reader

The “Writing Life Stories” e-mails I receive are such treasures. As soon as I see there is one in my inbox, I read it immediately. I look forward to them and never know how they will touch me. They can be interesting, informative, humorous, and/or touching.

There is never enough time

Four things you can't recover:

The stone........after the throw.          The word.........after it's said.

The occasion........after it's missed.    The time...........after it's gone

I thought he would outlive us all, all seven of us. But today my brother Hal passed away, suddenly, after months of devotion and caring for his disabled wife. His heart gave out even though his strength and strong will never failed him.
I will miss him.

  1. I'm so sorry to hear about your brother. I can't help wondering about his disabled wife. I'm also a family caregiver since my husband is partially paralyzed as a result of two strokes. So far, I've been doing a pretty good job of taking care of myself, but if I go before Bill, he'll probably end up in a nursing home.

  2. Glenda, I'm so sorry about your loss. It's true about time...and there not being enough of it. When we "think" about a relative or friend, we MUST send a card, give a call, send an email right then. And never forget to end the conversation with "I love you". Bless you and know I love you. Thank you for all you do for writers and friends.

  5. Glenda, I am sorry about your brother's sudden death. That is harder I'm sure than knowing ahead of time. None is easy to accept. I'm thinking of you and your family at this sad time.

  6. Abbie, the caregiver is often forgotten but the stress is overwhelming at times.
I've been the patient and the caregiver. In my case being the patient was easier, physically, than being the caregiver.
Take care of yourself so you can continue to care for him.
    Blessings on you both.

Thank you for your condolences. I'm in process of writing a memorial service which I've never done before. But I want it to be very special.

  10. Nancy Simpson,
It was good to talk with you tonight. Thanks for your sympathy. I've read where the worst loss is the one you are experiencing now.
My worry is for his daughters and his wife. I know how hard this is for them.
