Words from a Reader

The “Writing Life Stories” e-mails I receive are such treasures. As soon as I see there is one in my inbox, I read it immediately. I look forward to them and never know how they will touch me. They can be interesting, informative, humorous, and/or touching.

Nothing is cuter than a puppy.

I would not think of baby-sitting an eight month old baby, but I am keeping an eight month old puppy. Smokie is the most adorable little girl. Her eyes are bright, intelligent and they watch me constantly.

Smokie belongs to my sister and brother-in-law who are on a trip this week and sadly, for them, Smokie could not go. She is so tiny compared to Rocky, my old friend, and right now she is cuddled in her tiny bed, while Rocky is sprawled out half on the floor and half in his bed.

The floor is littered with tiny bits of paper. Smokie found a bag while I was out today and she spent the afternoon tearing the labels off some garments I was to return to Wal-Mart. Will they accept my excuse when I take back the underwear with no label? "The dog ate it."

  1. Glenda,
Smokie sure is a cute puppy and an active animal, too. Does Rocky enjoy the other canine in his home? I'm sure you are having a lot of fun dog-sitting. I like puppies very much, too.

  2. I think the puppy didn't want you returning those items! Isn't it amazing what they will find and chew up?
    Enjoy the extra company!
